Groundworks
M J Rooney has been long regarded as a specialist groundwork contractor and our services are regularly utilised in a variety of ways.

Our services are usually required to implement the first phase of the construction process undertaking all aspects of work to formation level.

However, the relationship with our clients rarely end there. We regularly participate in the following phases of construction particularly in the areas of reinforced concrete works.

All of our operatives and plant operators are fully certified and we encourage continuous training programmes throughout the organisation.

Our project management team includes estimators, surveyors and contract managers with a vast wealth of experience, some of whom have been a valuable part of the company since our formation over 21 years ago.

Building
We carry out high quality works including minor alterations & extensions to new builds and restoration projects.

We have a permanent in house building surveyor who offers advise at the procurement stage and subsequently supervises every element of the construction programme.

Underpinning
There are many forms of modern day underpinning techniques and with such an experienced and highly skilled workforce we are pleased to offer an extensive service.

Drainage

Structural Alterations
We undertake a wide variety of structural works from simply creating an opening in an existing masonry wall to major structural supports sustaining multiple upper stories of a building while lower levels are demolished or altered.

Our engineers can design a scheme to suit your specific project requirements suing one of the many proprietary systems available such as 'mabey' or 'slim shore'....

We conduct the demolition and superstructure alteration in a safe and methodical manor, strictly in accordance with our pre approved and site specific assessments.

Piling
M J Rooney offers a complete range of piling techniques to produce the most cost effective solution for the specific requirements of each project.

We will assess the characteristics of the soil along with the level of ground water to design a suitable piling scheme to adequately carry the loading of the proposed structure. We then select a piling rig to suit not only the pile formation but also any access limitations of the site.

We offer highly competitive quotations and a complete service from the initial design through to the installation of piles, ground beams and building of the structure.

Basement Conversions
With land now much more expensive and in short supply, people are now maximising all available space within their homes.

M J Rooney Construction Ltd has an excellent health and safety record which is maintained in the administrating and implementing of our health & safety procedures. We are totally committed to making a safe working environment on all our projects and therefore continue to invest in the latest industry training.

Safety begins with the training of our own workforce, based on national standards, health and safety legislation and our own in house safety policy. Each contract has a site specific and continually evolving site safety file, which contains various documentation including risk assessments, method statements, COSHH assessments and manual handling. A copy file is stored at our head office and all projects are reviewed on a regular basis.

We are also committed to the ever changing environment issues within our industry. We have developed a successful environment policy and promote awareness to all of our employees. We are a licensed broker and carrier of waste materials and hold the appropriate document from the governments environment agency.
